A dilemma – what do you think?

Is it better to miss a post or to write a load of drivel, a weird poem or a very short post lamenting the lack of a) motivation b) inspiration c) both or some other reason the blogger is failing to provide quality content?

That’s a hard one because I have a lot of days where I just don’t know what to write and the inspiration fails to come….a lot of those days I just share a link online I found that was interesting or some jokes or something because I want to keep myself posting everyday….
I have a HUGE problem in my life with procrastination so if I let myself say, fine, I have nothing to say, I will just miss a day then it will become a habit for me and pretty soon I will be back to blogging once in a blue moon like I used to do so for me, it’s better to write SOMETHING even if it’s not “quality” then to miss a day and sabotage the progress I have made so far.

You have a good point about the slippery slope of procrastination… I think that you are right, if I let myself miss one, it will happen again. I was considering switching to PostAWeek, but trying for every other day or something, but I think you’re right about sticking with it, even if I have to post something shorter than this comment!

The way I look at is that your readers don’t always want to read a huge long “quality” post and once in a while it doesn’t hurt to just post a short thought, or picture or poem or something.
I have my “down” days too and used to beat myself up over it but once I dawned on me that if I myself don’t want to always read long posts then neither will my readers.
I wouldn’t worry if I were you – the challenge is to post every day, not to post Pulitzer prize-winning entries all the time!! The point is to enjoy your blogging, not to get wound up and stressed about it. Personally speaking, I love what you post and I quite like the variety of long, short, moans, observations, humour etc. Keep going, it’s working!!

Thanks π I’m glad it’s working and shall try to consider my feebler attempts as an enrichment of variety rather than a failure π

I’m very proud of you doing a blog a day, even if all it says is too tired to blog. Kepp up the good work! I love reading it xx
