Horse of a different colour
I just learned something new about horse colours. On Monday, I spotted this unusually shaded horse in a field where we often have a stroll. Today I went back with the camera and was able to get a rather poor shot through the branches.
I don’t recall ever seeing a horse with marking like that. Very striking and lovely, and such a cuddly fluffy horse. I also don’t know what the partings on the sides of the horse are, they look like scars, but I couldn’t get close enough to see.
So being curious about this unusual colour, I had a poke about and found out what it is called 🙂 Good old Wikipedia! It is pangaré. That is the pale markings on the legs and underside and muzzle. The mane and tail being pale must be part of that shade of chestnut.
That’s two new things I’ve learned today, the other being hyperbolic crochet! But that merits another blog post all to itself.
I like learning new stuff 😀
